Fly With Me? | Marley

Tala fell down on the grass in the park, breathless. After taking a few deep breaths and making sure she could still breathe, she managed to notice that the day was, in fact, sunny. And she was currently basking in the late afternoon sun. It wasn't as hot as it'd been earlier, making the sun's rays pleasant instead of unbearable.
She pushed herself up off the groud, looking around cautiously at the same time. The reason she'd run into the park breathless was because at the beach some randomn dude had started chasing her as he yelled "Katarina!" in a very Italian accent. He must've mistaken her for someone else, and though she was normally perfectly happy to correct people who mistook her for other people and then befriend them, she hadn't much felt like explaining that to a crazy Italian person. She was part Italian, so knew how crazy they could be.
Certain that he'd not managed to follow her all the way here, Tala stood up straight to take in her surroundings. On a sign nearby stood Manhattan Community Park, which, she suspected, meant she was currently in Manhattan Community Park. It definitely looked like a park. Miles of trimmed, healthy, deep-green grass; tall, strong, marvelous trees; stunningly carved park benches; a cute, adorkable playground; all the boxes were checked. It was decided - she was in a park.
Feeling a warm breeze start up, and remembering her love of the wind blowing through her hair, she ran as fast as she could to the nearest park building, which happened to be a slide. Swiftly, she clambered up the side of it, up - up- all the way to the top. From there, she wriggeled herself out of the window and climbed onto the roof.
There she stood, a thrill of adrenaline rushing through her. She wasn't as high as she'd like, so she just got a bit of wind, but for her it was enough. Even the small amount of wind that brushed her skin lightly was enough. She felt as though she were flying. And Tala, if anyone, was at home in the sky.
(Okie, I may've made this a little hard to join... I hope not. If you can't think of anything, you could simply call out to Tala or something. That'd work, right?)

Marley looked up at the sky, inhaling deeply and taking in the fresh air. She appeared to be lost. In a huge city. Where she knew noone at all. How she got here, she had no idea, but she found her way onto a park where she thought she would be reasonably safe and placed herself on a bench.
There were small children running around everywhere, shouting and screaming about something or another, so to ward them away Marley lit a cigarette and put on her best, "Leave me alone," expression.
Suddenly, a girl came flying past her, who ran towards a small building and clambered up onto the roof of it.
How strange, Marley thought to herself, taking a drag on her cigarette. The girl did look a little old to be on the park, so Marley walked over to investigate.
She clambered up the building, following the steps of the girl and placed herself on the roof, but didn't say anything, just sat down on the roof of the tiny building.
There were small children running around everywhere, shouting and screaming about something or another, so to ward them away Marley lit a cigarette and put on her best, "Leave me alone," expression.

As Tala stood on the roof, arms outstretched and eyes glowing, she couldn't help but let a playful laugh escape her lips. She was on cloud nine. It was as though she could touch the sky, or really fly. That's how free she felt.
Hearing a slight noise behind her, she whirled around and almost fell off the structure when she saw a girl sitting there. She could barely believe someone had followed her up. Why would they do that? She didn't even know the girl. At least, she thought she didn't. Though she was quite sure she'd remember such shockingly red hair. But, being who she was, she shrugged off the weirdness and decided to introduce herself.
"Hi, I'm Tala," she declared, sitting down cross-legged in front of the girl. "Whatcha doin'? And why are you up here?"

"I'm Marley Raina, and I always appreciate someone who enjoys being in the clouds. I spend a lot of time there myself." Marley says outright, smiling at Tala.
"Sorry if I'm interrupting, or if I'm weird. I'm brand new to the country so I think hassling strangers is the best way to meet new folks." She smiles, rearranging herself on the roof as to not slide off and injure herself.

Tala let out another delighted laugh as she heard the girl speak, replying as soon as she'd gotten out her last word.
"You're British!" she sxclaimed, exstatic. "Oh, I do adore the british accent! It's so posh and fun! Much better than American, in my opinion. And pay no heed to the interupting or weirdness. I'm the weirdest person I know, and proud of it! So don't you dare apologise! You're awesome just the way you are! And you're right about the hassling thing, by the by. I didn't do much hassling of my own, but I did manage to run into a few people. Like, literally run into them. Either way is grand!"
"So, how long have you been here for?" Tala questioned, standing up oce again and leaning into the wind. "And which house are you in?"

Marley laughs, "Well weird people are the best. I'm in Odiosis."
Pulling herself up the roof, Marley fidgets trying to find a comfortable foot position.
"Moved here about a month ago, only been in school a week." She smiles, finally settling on a comfortable spot.

"Oh, I'm in Odiosis too!" Tala squeled, delighted. "Sorry 'bout the shrieking. I'm just glad to have another grand person in our house. We've got loads of awesome ones already. Like Elizabeth. She's a huge Shakespeare fan! She's awful nice, and really fun. She's also from Britain, and moved here lately. Like me. And you! Oh, you must meet her! You two'll get along fabulously!"
"You settling in alright then?" she asked, twirling around with a giggle. "Well, I hope they've been nice! You're a newbie, and from Britain! They've got to love ya! I mean, that accent... it's to die for! Like, literally! That's how awesome it is. Plus, you seem pretty cool. It'd be hard to not be nice to ya."

Marley, overwhelmed by the fast paced questions being fired at her took a moment to take in everything she heard. Her favourite colour? She wasn't expecting to have to reveal so much about herself. Hobbies? Did she have any? Marley saw pottery and art as more of a passion than just a mere hobby, and favourite food? Where to start.
"I, um, I like orange. And pottery. And, uh," Marley pauses, looking up from her feet to survey Tala's excited face. Marley saw friendly, not mental, and took a deep sigh of relief.
"I like moroccan food the best." She smiles shyly, looking back down at her brown furry boots.
"How about you?"

Tala kept twirling around as she listened to Marley's answers. They seemed perfectly normal, legitimate answers. Normally she got very strange ones. As the saying goes, you ask silly questions, you get silly answers. Thankfully this girl didn't seem to be the type to think Tala's questions were silly.
"Well, I adore singing, dancing, playing piano, reading and writing," she listed, standing still with her arms outstretched, letting herself get lost in the wind. "I mean... it's music. How can you not like it? It's a way of expressing emotions that you just can't say with words. That's also why I like dancing. I hear the music and I just can't stay still. It moves me, makes me want to laugh, and dance, and be free!"
"You know what I mean?" Tala asked suddenly, spinning around and falling down to kneel in front of Marley. "You do, doncha?"
"As for favorite food, that's easy," she continued, knowing that her question would be answered in due time and not being able to sit still for long enough to hear the answer. "I simply love cherry tomatoes. I know, it's weird, but I love 'em. They're absolutely spiffing. As for colour? That one's harder. I like Lavender and most purples. But I also love Forest Green. So basically just purples and greens."
